overview
Crestwood’s four programs in Solano are based on the company’s commitment to providing mental health consumers a continuum of care that firmly puts them on the road to recovery.
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Center prepares mental health consumers for their recovery. The program is designed for those consumers who need help developing some of the basic life skills that will allow them to return to their communities when they are further along in their recovery. Most consumers in this program have a dual diagnosis of a mental health issue and substance abuse, and these men and women attend classes each day focused on dual recovery. These consumers also have the opportunity to attend Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings on-site and in the community.
Dual recovery classes are held daily by certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors. Through classes, therapy and special outings, these men and women learn appropriate behaviors like interacting with peers and how to properly present themselves in the community. Many of these residents participate in Crestwood Solano's "Cornerstone" program, a pre-vocational training program that teaches housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping and other skills, and assists with linking consumers to the Department of Rehabilitation.
Our House is an Adult Residential Facility serving individuals who are far along in their recovery and are now preparing to transition back into their communities. Consumers at Our House work together to create a home-like atmosphere; share housekeeping, cooking and other chores; and learn independent living skills.
The Crestwood Solano Day Treatment Program provides care and services to Crestwood's residential consumers as well as individuals living with family, independently or at board-and-care homes in the community. Like other programs at Crestwood, the Day Treatment Program creates individualized treatment programs based on the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) model. The program is also an approved service provider for North Bay Regional Center, offering treatment and care to individuals who are dually diagnosed with a mental health issues and a developmental disability.
Solano's Neighborhood of Dreams is a unique program that provides individualized recovery in a learning environment, while partnering with local community agencies to provide support and growth opportunities. Consumers participating in Neighborhood of Dreams access recovery education, vocational skill building, peer provider training, peer mentoring, computer training, community linkages, family and support system training, mobility training, warm line support and the opportunity for paid employment at a range of levels. And the services continually evolve and transform to meet the changing needs of the consumers.
In response to a request for proposal from Solano County, Crestwood Behavioral Health partnered with the Dreamcatchers Empowerment Network to open three new wellness and recovery centers in Vallejo, Fairfield and Dixon. The new programs, called Neighborhood of Dreams, provide services that support person-centered recovery in a learning environment, while partnering with local community agencies to address individuals' needs.
